Following an initial product analysis at ORTOVOX, the Fleece Grid Hoody was selected as a demonstrator for the RETRAKT project. Using this product as an example, the project investigates how the Digital Product Passport can be implemented in practice and which processes need to be adapted to support a more circular product lifecycle. This includes identifying the information required throughout the value chain as well as opportunities to improve durability, repairability and recyclability. The jacket's journey begins with Merino wool from Tasmania, continues through product development and manufacturing in Europe, accompanies its wearer on mountain adventures and does not end after its first life. Repair, reuse and recycling are all part of its story. Along this journey, the jacket illustrates how circular product processes and the future Digital Product Passport can provide transparent product information throughout the entire life cycle.
